Barcode – UPC/EAN
A barcode (UPC/EAN) is a machine-readable code in the form of numbers and a pattern of parallel lines of varying widths, printed on a commodity and used especially for stock control. You see them on most packaged products.
This is encoded into the Table Of Contents (TOC) on your DDPi Master so is required before you send your Master to the factory.
If you sell products to a distributor or a retailer, you may wish to register a UPC barcode. If you are not sure, it is best to contact the company selling your product to find out their policy on UPC barcodes. When you obtain your UPC number, you will also get a certificate authenticating your number.
Barcodes (UPC/EAN) can be registered and bought with various companies online. Have a quick search and there are quite a few different options.
